Building AI Literacy: CosmicAI’s Teaching Fellows Program
Today is National AI Literacy Day! National AI Literacy Day is a nationwide day of action focused on exploring the fundamental question, “ What is AI? ” and “How do we prepare learners for an AI-enabled world?”
As part of this work, CosmicAI is scaling up an existing AI Teaching Fellows program in which practicing high school teachers will co-develop AI-integrated lesson plans and create collaborative resources for AI-enabled STEM instruction.
With supplemental funding from the National Science Foundation, we’re also expanding teacher workshops, curriculum development, and dissemination activities.
The initiative focuses on astronomy-aligned AI learning materials for grades 9–12 and also enables pathways into physics, chemistry, mathematics, and statistics. We aim to provide classroom-ready materials for STEM educators, working toward a broader ecosystem of AI-classroom resources and sustained teacher support.
Our goal is to connect educators with current scientific research while building a network of teachers who can bring trustworthy, verifiable, and ethical AI concepts into classrooms across multiple states. We will share more details about this soon.
